The employees of North Wellington Co-operative Service are part of a team helping to fulfill the needs of farmer-patrons in Ontario, Canada for the following counties: Bruce, Grey, Huron, Perth, Wellington.

• TITLE: Co-op Branch Manager
  COOP/DIVISION: North Wellington Co-operative Services
  LOCATION: Harriston, ON
  REPORTS TO: General Manager
  
  ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Ensures the smooth and efficient day to day operation of the $6 million sales at our Harriston Branch, which consists of a retail store, feed mill and crop center.
  • Prepares in conjunction with the Controller and the General Manager a sales and expense budget.
  • Hires, trains and supervises employees as required; ensures the provision of excellent customer service to members and customers.
  • Ensures appropriate inventory turnover, cost control, maintenance of fixed assets and human resource management and development.
  • Ensures all government safety regulations are adhered to and safework practices are followed.
  • Sells products and services through in store merchandising, advertising and sales promotions.
  • Advises customers on use and application of feed and crop products sold.
  • Supervises and develops staff in handling sales, sales invoices, receiving vouchers, proper housekeeping, merchandising, cash handling, preventative maintenance, product knowledge etc.
  • Ensures the safety and security of assets including premises, inventory, equipment, etc.

  REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong understanding of the crops, feed and consumer business developed through progressive experience within a farm supply and/or retail business.
  • Proven supervisory, customer service, organizational and planning skills.
  • Proven expertise in merchandising and marketing.
  • Strong POS and PC knowledge.

  DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree or Diploma in agriculture or business.
  • Management experience.

  REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A degree or diploma in agriculture or related experience would be a definite asset.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills and housekeeping ability.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Able to deal effectively with customers and staff.

• TITLE: Invoicing / Accounting Clerk
  COOP/DIVISION: North Wellington Co-operative Services
  REPORTS TO: Controller/Branch Manager
  
  ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • To accurately post sales to customer accounts on a computer system.
  • Sales invoices to include petroleum, propane, feed and crop input products.
  • Other office duties include telephone answering, filing, reconciliation of accounts, processing of feed and fertilizer production input, input of product codes, day end bank deposits and reports and managing petroleum keylock records.

  REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 years business experience using computers.
  • Knowledge of farm products and their uses: Fuels – Feed – Fertilizer – Chemicals – Seed.
  • Grade 13 or considerable business experience in the fame supply business.

• TITLE: Custom Equipment Operator
  COOP/DIVISION: North Wellington Co-operative Services
  LOCATION: Harriston
  REPORTS TO: Branch Manager
  
  ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • The incumbent for this position will have the responsibility of operating sophisticated custom application equipment for North Wellington Co-operative Inc. In addition the individual will be required to perform other duties as required.

  REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic knowledge of Crop Products, Ag Chemicals and Fertilizer
  • Experience in operation of flotation fertilizer equipment, custom application of crop protection products with high clearance sprayers.
  • Class DZ Drivers Licence or better with a good drivers abstract.
  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of personal computers and electronic monitoring devices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Dedicated to providing quality work at an aggressive pace.
  • Ability to work extended hours as required by the operation of the business.

• TITLE: Petroleum Driver / Sales Person
  COOP/DIVISION: North Wellington Co-operative Services
  LOCATION: Harriston / Durham
  REPORTS TO: Energy Division Manager
  
  At North Wellington Co-operative Services success comes from our ability to provide the Highest Quality of Petroleum Products and Services to a diverse Group of Customers. To assist with our continued success, we require an energetic and motivated Petroleum Driver.
  
  SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  
  Your first goal will be to deliver petroleum products in a safe and efficient manner. Along with this, you will ensure customer good-will and satisfaction and that delivery of the product is on time and meets customer expectations. You will also be responsible for daily inventory control, sales tickets and for the safe operation and maintenance of the delivery truck. Above all, you will represent and promote North Wellington Co-operative Services in a competent and professional manner.
